The Yellow Rumped Warbler is a small, and somewhat overlooked bird.  Up close you can see the subtle yellow hues and other unique patterns that make these birds so delicate and beautiful.  This bird sits upon a nest of nails nicely fitted into a soup ladle.  The sculpture can be hung on the wall or displayed on a flat surface.  Typewriter parts makeup some of the layering in the wing feathers while saw blades, stainless silverware, and other scrap steel round out the rest of the bird.  Rusted nails woven together form the nest.  Small bits of yellow painted steel salvaged from gas cylinders give a hint of color.  This piece has an oiled finish suitable for indoor display.
