This mechanical butterfly is modeled after the Eastern Swallowtail.  Colors come from salvaged metal that was already painted, including an oil drum and metal shelving units.  Other elements used in the construction are saw blades, perforated metal, bicycle parts, silverware, and other various recycled items.  The butterfly is made for wall hanging and measures 19.5" wide, 17" tall, and 2" deep.
